EUROCERT at the University of West Attica: Transferring Expertise to the Scientists of Tomorrow
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting knowledge and strengthening the connection between academia and the labor market, EUROCERT participated in an educational seminar organized by the Department of Food Science and Technology of the University of West Attica.
The invited speaker was Sophia Boulekou, Product Manager at EUROCERT, who delivered a lecture entitled:
"Certification in the Food Industry: Benefits and Future Perspectives"
The lecture was held within the framework of the course "Food Industry Design", with the aim of introducing students to the contemporary requirements of the food industry and highlighting the critical role that certification, environmental management and quality assurance systems play in the operation and competitiveness of businesses.
During the presentation, topics related to certification standards, environmental permitting procedures, and the current challenges faced by the food sector were thoroughly discussed. In addition, practical examples drawn from EUROCERT's extensive experience were presented, demonstrating how certification processes contribute to sustainable development, regulatory compliance, and the enhancement of business credibility and competitiveness.
